Harvie started her career in theater and was part of the Vancouver TheatreSports group. She won the Just for Laughs Improv Tournament in Montreal in 1995 and received a Gemini Award nomination for her comedy work. In addition to her notable TV appearances, she starred in films such as The 6th Day (2000), Love Happens (2009), and Tooth Fairy (2010).
