Films like The Scarlet Letter (2004), and The President's Last Bang (2005) proved to be very controversial because of the political subject matter and the suicide of a co-star. Although films like A Bloody Aria (2006) enjoyed cult popularity. Eventually in the 2010s, he enjoyed a resurgence in mainstream popularity following acclaimed work in the television series Deep Rooted Tree (2011), Secret Door (2014), and Dr. Romantic (2016-2020), as well as work in the blockbuster film The Berlin File (2013) and other hit films including The Prison (2017) and Forbidden Dream (2019).
