Three years later, his feature debut, "Tu pa tam" (Here and There), made on a near-zero budget, became a huge hit in Slovenia, gained wide distribution, and was screened at numerous European film festivals. In 2007, he received a British Council nomination for the International Young Film Entrepreneur of the Year Award (IYFEY) and was featured in Screen International magazine as a European Star of Tomorrow. That same year, the Polish broadcaster TVN invited him to direct the immensely popular series "39 ​​i pół" (39 and a Half), and later invited him to collaborate on the project "Letters to Santa." Mitja Okorn has also directed numerous commercials and award-winning music videos. He has been living and working in Poland since 2007.
